Am i the only person who thinks the time they give to actually play the Beta is ridiculous? it just opened what on the 12 i believe? and it's already down again. 2 days are you kidding me? after everyone that pre-ordered Rome 2 was promised this game would be given to them 100% free and now the game actually is free to play. Everyone who pre-ordered rome 2 should be able to constantly play this Beta until the game is actually released. i feel like CA and Sega are just slapping people right in the face with this crap.

The game was always f2p. Pre-ordering Rome 2 just got you access to beta testing.

Game is currently in alpha, not beta.

Generally speaking, maintaining a game continuously requires resources and manpower and during testing many companies don't see a return on investment for keeping the servers live for an extended period. Dev make changes. Testers test them. Server go down to continue work once testing is done. Rinse & repeat. Continuous alpha/beta tests that leave the game in a 'beta' state for years are just excuses(Looking at you Warframe). I'd rather see more downtime equaling more progress on the game than be able to play incomplete versions where we will potentially lose all progress(game dependent). That's just me though. Obviously you have your own opinion.

i mean i expect down time but this is getting a little ridiculous. they don't even really change much  at all. The only difference i noticed this test was a new map..

You should read the patch notes in the closed alpha section. Also, be sure to only post game content in those sections. You are currently posting in a public section of the forum and the game is under NDA.

When the HISTORICAL records reflect the commitment of the Alpha testers upon the day of its OFFICIAL release in 2029 then jacobm196 will be able to stand up and say: I was there, I was able to help shape Arena, I provided my feedback (although at times my morality strayed a bit but hey were only human), and by gods I endured the 12 year Alpha......Nuff said.......*__*

P.S. But I do wonder, in 2029 will they actually reset our progress once the BETA launches????..........:hiding:

I got your back broh. Ask me a question.

Applied Behavior Analysis uses only empirical evidence to form generalizations about human behavior. I teach about ABA, public speaking, and leadership as a hobby.
