If the Greeks are going to be forced into capitulation via a default DEFENSIVE role then should they not get a heavy Artillery unit tree? Either that or give them Sword infantry to use offensively because no one wants to be forced into REPETITIVE defense scenarios......TEDIUM will just lead to FRUSTRATION.......Fix the GREEKS if this update is here to stay please.........SOON hopefully......

Isn't the idea that one unit of phalanx can hold many units of swords just long enough to flank or allow teammates to flank them?

LoL, nah I wouldn't go that far man; just some good ole Oxybelles without any commander specific abilities would do the trick in transitioning the Greeks to a defensive role..........

The devs added a news box in game today for new players it reads:

Roman - powerful
Barbarian - mobile
GREEK - DEFENSIVE

maybe that will help form appropriate expectations

Except that the Greeks aren't good at defense because the hoplites phalanx just melts.........So will someone explain to me how they are DEFENSIVE since 2.4? Please because I don't see it; defensive units are really slow but have lots of Armor with insane missileblock........Lol They are slow but DON'T have actual defensive stats..........I mean I guess I'm just not understanding the game after 3 years perhaps???

hoplites as well as pikes are extremely hard to deal with from the front their weaknesses are when getting flanked. also hoplites specifically have higher defence than any other unit type in the game

ok so i favoured it and i was a bit wrong it was 2 tier 7 vs 2 tier 10 however i would have won 1 vs 2 if it was not for an insane amount of archer fire reking the first one
