Isn't barbarian cavalry underpowered at mid to high tiers?

Hello there!


I don't know if you guys would agree with me, but it seems that the barbarian cavalry is progressively underpowered when you start to reach tiers where greeks and romans get access to their cavalry units. They are quite useful at the beginning but tend to lose purpose against their counterparts, in my opinion.


Yes, they are good for scouting — while greeks are good shock units and romans are good melee fighters — but it seems they could be improved with a few different mechanics to their hit and run tactics. Maybe something like implementing the ability to throw javelins from the mid-tier onward...


I would like to know what other ideas might pop with further discussions (or if my perception of this issue is not shared by you all).

Barb cavs are weaker than Rome cav from T5-7. But once you reach T8 Vercingetorix, things change drastically with his Defiance and Iron Discipline. Armin cavs atm have no place in high tier.
